ATSVS Siddha Medical College and Hospital, Munchirai, is a premier institution dedicated to excellence in Siddha medical education, patient care, research, and community service. The institution is managed by Akila Travancore Siddha Vaidya Sangam, founded by the late Nithyananda Swamigal, a visionary who devoted his life to the advancement of Siddha medicine. After traveling extensively and assessing several locations, he identified Munchirai as the most suitable place to establish a Siddha Medical Gurukulam, laying the foundation for an institution that continues to serve society with dedication and excellence.

The Sangam was registered under the Companies Act in 1937 and subsequently established a Siddha Medical Diploma College, a teaching hospital, a pharmacy, and an herbal garden to support education, healthcare delivery, and the conservation of medicinal plants. In 1996, the Diploma College was upgraded to an Undergraduate Siddha Medical College, becoming the first private Siddha Medical College in India. This milestone marked a significant contribution to the growth of Siddha medical education and research in the country.
